Do Not Sink Below Your Wisdom.

To my way of thinking, we are all fair weather friends to have around. Here is what I mean: When it comes to being moral all the time, the worst of us talk a good game, but the best of us follow through totally. Honesty is hard, dishonesty seems easier. Easy is not always the best way, though that road seems wide and open to all we cannot sink below our wisdom like stones in a pond and get away with it for long. We all must pay our dues and benefit logically from how we pay.

Good, smart work leads to good benefits that are intelligently applied. Bad, animal like existence leads to more of the same with ever decreasing consciousness if you are human, as we can all tell by the genuine criminal mind, from the sneak thief to the murderer or mass murderer. Sinking below our wisdom leads to that sort of evil; living with or rising above our wisdom leads to genuinely great things, naturally. Sure, it seems too simple here in a sense, indeed, put this into practice and perspective: Reality is hard to live morally in especially when decisions are hard to make and some resources in life are hard to come by. Of course, the only way out is through and we cannot like everything at every given moment, there is up and there is down as sure as there is gravity. During those "down" times, we can do everything we need to do, so that we can handle the "up" times better and with more intellectual "speed" and realistic understanding. Sure, I agree with the Greek philosopher Aristotle that happiness is the highest cause and thus the greatest effect. But also, I say to this: We must have control and iron grip control over what we all feel about cause and effect as a whole without matter to what happens. That means, if it is bad, prepare for the good while it is bad. If it is good, enjoy it intelligently. But, no matter what happens, with stoic honesty, do not sink below wisdom. Sure, I am saying go from good to neutral in a personally restrained, controlled and contained way and not good to bad with the tides of circumstances and personal reality. Sure, it can be hard sometimes and it can be easy sometimes. Know this, it is always both as long as you are living at some time.

Sure, our personal reality for us is where it is always at. We can either rise above it or sink below it. What seems hard on one level is "too easy" at the next level above that. What is my point? It is really what we think it is. Each life and level has a price mark as there is not a floor and there is not a ceiling, but we can go up forever or down forever on that infinite scale. It is always a choice to sink below or rise above our wisdom. May you make the right choice or decision and take the right action. For every day the sun shines, there is a night. But there is always a light you can make for yourself through effort to light up that night when it comes. Incandescent light bulbs aside, there is your "big hint", for reality is what we make it.

I also work at a senior center in Gardena, California as my day job, among other things, but primarily I am a writer.
